Distances

The Beachcomber Motel is close to the Heaphy Track and we can arrange transport to the start of the track for you. Nearby, you will also find Farewell Spit, the renowned Wharariki Beach (left) and many bush and beach walks. The Naked Possum is a café and tannery situated at the beginning of the beautiful Kaituna Walkway and is a 20 minute drive away. There is a tavern serving excellent fish and other meals, a restaurant and café in the historic Courthouse and a café serving takeaways and coffee all a very short walk from the motel. The world renowned Mussel Inn with a micro brewery and excellent meals is a 15 minute drive away. Golden Bay is a haven for art lovers with artists, potters, silversmiths and jewellers all within a short distance.

The Nelson Airport is two hours away with rental cars available there. There is a small air service into Takaka Airport from Wellington. There is a mini coach service from Nelson and from Takaka. We are centrally located with Picton approximately four hours to the east, Westport approximately four hours to the West and the Nelson Lakes approximately two and a half hours to the south.

Our Rooms

We have studio units – queen sized bed, ensuite and tea, coffee, toast making facilities with a microwave.


There are also family units which can sleep up to five with either twin beds or a queen on the ground floor with the remainder on a mezzanine floor. The family units have kitchen facilities with a cook top, and a bathroom downstairs.

Wireless internet is available in all rooms and computers that take coins are available in the kiosk.

On-site laundry facilities are available.

Tariff

$90 - $135 for two people with an extra charge for additional people. Seasonal rates apply.

Reservation and Cancellation Policy:
We require credit card details or a deposit to confirm a booking. We reserve the right to charge for one night’s accommodation for cancellations within 48 hours of the booking should we not be able to re-let the unit.
